Have you ever wondered what it must be like to be a mermaid? Would you like to be one for just a day?
In our story, a young girl tells us about her day as a mermaid. She and her parents would visit the beach every day to build castles, swim and enjoy the warm sand and gentle surf. On falling asleep one night, in her dream she finds herself in the crystal clear waters of the ocean with the dolphins playing by her side. Realizing she is a mermaid, she swims to the ocean floor and discovers so many wonderful things. Being a mermaid, all the creatures of the sea ask her to sing. As she begins to sing she looks up for her parents, but realizes they aren’t in her dream with her. A knock on her elbow reminds her of how important her mother’s care is to her. She realizes that although it may be great to be someone special in the sea, it’s far better to be someone special to her parents.
This beautifully-illustrated rhyming tale for children aged three to seven years old contains a strong message for kids. It should help them to understand that although they are always free to imagine different lives for themselves, the love from their parents will always be unmatched.

One day when she is at the beach with her mom and dad, the young girl in this children's book wishes that she could be a mermaid. Although in her innocence, she can see all the positive things about being a mermaid, she has no idea that there are negative consequences as well. One night in particular, she has a very vivid dream and is indeed a beautiful mermaid just like her heart desires. She realizes that her dream has come true and now she can swim with the dolphins and other sea life. However, what this little girl doesn't count on is that she has left behind her parents in the real world. She soon comes to the conclusion that she is much happier just being who she is and living with her mom and dad and not being a mermaid after all. The illustrations are bright and colorful.

The book needs to be a little more refined in looks and the way the text is placed in the book.
This was an adorable children's book that showcases a child's need to grow into his/her own person, but also his/her desperate need for love and guidance from his/her family.
I would definitely recommend this for a parent to read to his/her children or as a book for an advanced young reader.
My three year old granddaughters loved this book. We read it together. It had lots of pictures and vivid colors. It has lots of rhymes which makes it fun to read. Thanks
This colorful illustrated rhyming book was just fantastic. It was put together perfectly. Every child would love this book. I would recommend parents to get this for there young children......
This is an adorable story, my girls and I read joyously together. The illustrations are magnificent--so colorful and fun...except for ths ones with she gets a little boo boo. -(
This story starts off with a little girl who loves family beach trips with her mommy and daddy. When her wish comes true, she enjoys herself immensely until she learns a hard lesson of making wishes.
A great family bedtime book that you can definitely read over and over again.
This sure was a fun ebook about a little girl and her parents going daily to the beach to swim and build castles,etc... beautiful illustrations too. For these reasons I would like to recommend this for five stars and for little girls who likes to go to the beach,too! I received this for free and ow in return is my honest review. Great work Yonit! I Was a Mermaid for a Day, a colourful illustrated rhyming book, reminds us of what a loving family can be like. This little girl and her family would visit the beach every day, building castles, playing with the dolphins and making memories with the family.
One night the little girl fell asleep and starts to dream that she was a mermaid having the time of her life playing around on the ocean floor with the dolphins and other friends, growing up and living her dream. As they played, the little sea creatures begin to ask the little mermaid to sing and as she sings out she starts to look for her parents, then she soon realized they are not in her dream, nowhere to be found.
In the same dream, the little mermaid bruised her elbow and looked around but could not find her mom to put a bandage or princess band-aid on it. Deep, deep down in the crystal clear waters this wise little girl realizes that family is everything! Great message for kids to understand that as they are free to imagine different lives for themselves, that there's nothing like the love of great parents. Get your copy today... great job by Yonit Werber! Highly recommended.
