Widowed at twenty-five, Cassie Phillips finds it difficult to move forward. Tommy Hutchins has a passion for guns, something she fears, but that fear is eased by his gentle spirit, his kind heart, his Christian faith. As he helps her deal with the financial stresses caused by her husband’s death, his faith in God guides her path back to her own faith and inner strength, all while she helps her cousin escape the clutches of an abuser. Yet Tommy is not without his own issues, his need to control a mask for his own pain and his fear of rejection once again. Realizing she’s slowly falling for him, Cassie’s burgeoning affection is overshadowed by her fears of his passion and her loss of identity to a man who needs to be in control. Her question to herself – can she embrace and overcome her fears without losing her identity, accepting the new life that awaits her?
This is the story of the struggles women face to overcome insecurities, fears, users and abusers. The paths taken as they discover independence, self-empowerment, and faith. It is not an endorsement of a particular brand, type, style, or caliber of handgun, but of the proper education and use of a firearm and the personal choice to legally carry a concealed handgun. However, that choice is not the main focus of the book. This is the story of women, of friends, of family, of faith.

I enjoyed the story. It was lovely to have a romance that didn't nosedive into folks ripping each other's clothes off. This was just normal people having a normal relationship, not relying on heavy petting or more to move the relationship forward. The tension between the main characters was done well. It's a very sweet story with plenty of gentlemanly action.I loved seeing gun ownership portrayed in such a positive and responsible light. There's a lot of focus on safety and understanding of firearms and practice. There's a wonderful set of resources at the end of the book for learning more about firearms.
Well done!

Concealed edition by Mary "Dynk" McDonald Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Lots of good points covered. Deals with issues women, and men, face over guns. Brought family issues out. Shows why anyone should carry concealed, especially women. A little short on descriptions of specific guns and some of the finer points. Too many family relationships for me to follow -- too many cousins and relatives popping in and out.
Actually, it was good enough that I'd like to see a sequel though.
Good read! Give it a shot. No pun intended. )Goes through a woman that has been abused and how she grows..........
then buy this book. The writing is mediocre, the plot so so but what lost me was
when the book turned in to a evangelical tract. Keep your religious beliefs to yourself,
and stick to the story. I didn't buy it so you could attempt to convert me to Christianity.
If I wanted that I would have purchased a book on religion or read a religious tract.
Not planning to finish it, and not worth the 99 cents.
Too preachy, too predictable. Dialog is rather stilted and seems unnatural. So much of it didn't even seem probable to me.
I really wanted to like this book due to the topic but just could not. The dialogue is adolescent and repetitive. The story in general rambles at times and again is repetitive. The story had potential but didn't quite get there.
This book had a lot of great accurate information about guns and carrying concealed. It was a romance that was not focused on sex, but building relationships. This is a book I would go back and re-read if I was unclear about information on guns, handling them, and good basic safety information. A must read for women, especially if you are considering getting a gun or have recently obtained a concealed permit.
